About the Practice
The practice started as branch surgery of an old established practice in Peterborough in a Porta-cabin in February 1986 to the serve the then new development in the Northern part of Werrington. It was located across the road from The Dragon Pub, where the current Ash Park estate is. In July 1986 it was decided that Dr.Vijay Iyer run the practice as an independent single handed practice serving the local population. At the time just over one hundred patients were registered at the practice.

The current surgery was planned and built as a purpose built surgery in about eighteen months. The practice moved to the premises in the Easter of 1989. The surgery was officially opened by Sir John Major, then Member of Parliament, on 26th May 1989. At the time the practice’s registered population was just over one thousand. GP Earning
All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice. NHS England require that the net earnings of doctors engaged in the practice is publicised and the required disclosure is shown below. However it should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the practice and should not be used for any judgement about earnings, nor to make any comparisons with other practices. The average pay for GPs working in Surgery, Hodgson Centre in the last financial year was £128,478 before Tax and National Insurance. This is for two full time GPs who worked in the practice for more than six months.
